Max Fonds
Na de bomaanslag op 17 juli in Jakarta bleek dat de buitenlandse verzekeringsmaatschappij, waarbij Max Boon was aangesloten, maar een klein deel van de zorgkosten vergoedde.
Max’s werkgever Castle Asia en de Indonesia-Netherlands Association (INA) hebben daarom kort na de aanslag een fonds opgericht: Max Boon Fonds.
Het Fonds is opgericht om de medische kosten in Jakarta en Singapore, de repatrieringskosten van Max naar Nederland en andere aanpassings kosten in Nederland alsmede andere, eventueel niet gedekte of te verhalen kosten in de toekomst voor Max te kunnen voldoen.
Vanaf de aankomst in Nederland op 4 september jl. wordt de behandeling van Max onder het Nederlandse zorgsysteem voortgezet. Het is echter bekend dat niet alle zorg en revalidatiekosten door de Nederlandse verzekering worden gedekt.
Alle giften zullen ten goede komen aan de behandeling van Max Boon. De familie van Max steunt het initiatief van het fonds volledig.
In verband met belastingtechnische redenen zal het fonds spoedig omgezet worden in een Nederlandse stichting. Bericht hierover volgt spoedig.

As all of Max Boon’s friends know by now, Max was grievously injured in the Marriott bombing on 17 July. He is now clinging to life in Singapore.
We all know Max to be a tremendous young man, a good friend and a stubborn fighter. If anyone can make it back, he can.
Nevertheless, even with the best possible outcome, Max will be permanently disabled and faces a long and difficult recovery and rehabilitation period. He will need all the support we can give him. The medical costs alone will far exceed his insurance coverage and then his long rehabilitation will begin.
We are appealing for your help to support Max and get him through this most difficult and tragic period.
Max Boon works for CastleAsia and is also an INA Member. CastleAsia and INA have therefore opened a fund at Standard Chartered Bank. Standard Chartered Bank has made the first contribution. Another anonymous contribution of $25,000 has already been pledged. INA will manage this fund and all proceeds will go to the treatment of Max’s medical, rehabilitation and living costs that are not covered by any insurance. His family fully supports this initiative.
We ask not only Max’s friends, but all those who share the outrage at the tremendous injustice that has befallen this fine young man to contribute as much as you possibly can to make his life and that of his family more bearable.
